How to house your furry friend 101

When adopting any hamster you want to always make sure they have a roomy cage! I know how cute some of the cages sold at pet stores can look, however it’s highly recommended to buy a big glass one as pictured.

Hamsters LOVE to forage! A few stimulate related items to recommend are (substrates, branches, cork trimmings, sprays, or pebbles). Hamsters may seem to adapt quicker when they feel stimulated and occupied!

Exercise! Your furry friend spends a lot of time burrowing and sleeping during the day. You’ll want to be sure to buy a nice huge wheel for them, preferably about 20-28 cm tall. Keep in mind if you house the hamster in your bedroom you might expect some running around 2-4 AM!

Of course this is just a small reminder of the little changes you can make to keep your hamster happy and healthy! Take it little by little, don’t rush your connection just yet and always remember to appreciate how cute but gentle these furry friends are!
